FY2015-17 Adopted Budget
On June 30, the Oakland City Council approved a $2.4 billion two-year budget for fiscal years 2015-2017. The budget closes an estimated $18 million annual funding gap without making any cuts to City services or staffing levels.

The Adopted Budget is based upon the Mayor's Proposed Budget. This was modified by two Errata, and Amendments by the City Council. The Council also Adopted Policy Directives and Budget Priorities. The relevant documents are noted below.

Five-Year Financial Forecast
The Five-Year Financial Forecast (Forecast) for the City of Oakland (City) spans from Fiscal Years (FY) 2015-16 to FY 2019-20. The purpose of the Forecast is to help make informed budgetary and operational decisions by anticipating future revenues and expenditures, and highlighting anticipated fiscal risks and opportunities.

Budget Priorities Poll Results
Between January 27-31, 2015, Fairbank, Maslin, Maullin, Metz & Associates (FM3) conducted a telephone survey of 701 randomly-selected registered voters in the City of Oakland to assess their views on issues related to the Oakland City budget.

Council Member Expenditure Priorities
City Council Members have the opportunity to advise the Mayor and City Administrator publicly of their priorities. Each Councilmember is invited to submit up to seven expenditure priorities in ranked and/or weighted order for changes to the baseline budget as presented in the Five Year Forecast.
