Oakland, CA - On December 16, 2011 at approximately 4:53 pm a bank robbery
occurred at the Wells Fargo located at 2220 Mountain Boulevard. Investigators
have reason to believe the same individual is responsible for committing another
recent bank robbery on December 13, 2011, at the Chase Bank located at 3310
Oakland, CA - On December 10, 2011 at approximately 2:59 am the Oakland
Police Department responded to the 400 block of 14th street on a report of a street
robbery. The quick response of the officers and the accurate description and cooperation of
the victim lead to the arrest and conviction of four individuals responsible for at
least one street robbery.

Annual Adopt-A-Family Week December 19 - 23, 2011. During this week, PAL
will collaborate with several local companies and provide gifts to identified

The City of Oakland administrative offices will be closed between Monday, December 26 and Monday, January 2 for a combination of City holidays and business closure days as a result of budget cutbacks. Police, fire and emergency services are not affected during the holidays or business closures.
Holiday tree collection takes place during the first two weeks of January on your regularly scheduled collection day, starting on January 2nd and ending on January 13th. After January 13th, Oakland residents may place their trees in their residential yard trimmings cart – trees must be cut down to fit in the cart with the lid closed.

On December 15, 2011 at about 8:15AM, in the 100 block of Clay Street, a
security officer discovered a female in the Oakland Estuary clinging to the
rocks. The Oakland Police Department and medical personnel responded
to the scene and pulled the female from the water.
In the spirit of the holidays and to stimulate shopping in Oakland’s commercial districts in support of local merchants, the City of Oakland announced today that it will offer free parking for the next two Saturdays: December 17 and 24.
Oakland, CA – The Oakland Black Officers Association (OBOA) will host its 1st Annual Holiday Mixer for senior citizens. In addition to dinner being served, OBOA members will facilitate games and prizes during the four hour event. It is anticipated that approximately 100 seniors will participate in this event. “I am very proud of the community service being provided by the OBOA,” said Chief Howard Jordan.
The Oakland Police Department Traffic Division will conduct its annual “Motor Santa” Operation to provide toys to children (up to the age of 12) throughout the City of Oakland. This is a Traffic Division tradition.
