On March 20, 2013, at 3:15 PM, Oakland Police responded to the 4100 block of
Foothill Boulevard on a report of a robbery in progress. The caller witnessing the
robbery provided suspects’ descriptions to the dispatcher. These were corroborated
by another witness at the scene. When officers arrived they were able to safely
arrest the two suspects, an adult male and female, in connection with the robbery.
On March 18, 2013, at 11:25 AM, Oakland Police Officers responded to the 4100
block of Lincoln Avenue on a report of a residential burglary in progress. The
caller provided suspect activity and descriptions to the dispatcher including a
description of the vehicle used as a getaway car.
The City of Oakland today announced the temporary street closures and parking restrictions in effect for the 4th annual Oakland Running Festival which takes place on Sunday, March 24, 2013. The 26.2 mile marathon starts at 7:30 a.m. from 19th and Harrison (Snow Park). In addition to much of downtown, the marathon course will take runners along Broadway Auto Row, Piedmont Avenue, Temescal, Rockridge, Upper Rockridge, Fernwood, Montclair, Oakmore/Upper Park, Dimond, Fruitvale, San Antonio, Eastlake, West Oakland, Northgate and Lake Merritt.
Oakland, CA — On March 15, 2013, the Oakland Police Department participated in
a statewide Decoy Shoulder Tap Operation. OPD was one of over 100 law
enforcement agencies participating in the operation, conducted statewide for the
second time ever. The Decoy Shoulder Tap Operation program is intended to reduce
the availability of alcohol to minors.
