Resources for Property Owners

Other financial resources to address seismic safety:

  • GRANTS: Earthquake Brace + Bolt (EBB), a California statewide retrofit incentive program offering up to $3,000 to eligible homeowners. APPLICATION PERIOD RUNS JANUARY 25 – FEBRUARY 27, 2017.  This program is open to all Oakland zip codes.  City of Oakland grant funds are limited so homeowners applying for City grant funds are also encouraged to apply to EBB.
  • LOANS: The State of California has launched new Capital Access Program for Seismic Safety to enhance the ability of residential property owners to access private loans for seismic retrofits.
  •  INSURANCE PREMIUM DISCOUNT: The California Earthquake Authority offers a higher earthquake insurance premium discount for retrofitted homes
