The Office of Parks and Recreation manages the Jack London Aquatic Center (JLAC) located in Estuary Park, on the Embarcadero, between Oak Street & Fifth Avenue.

Situated on the shores of the Oakland Estuary, the Jack London Aquatic Center’s Community Room boasts excellent natural lighting with breathtaking views of the waterfront, Estuary Park, the Oakland hills and the downtown skyline and may be rented for weddings, receptions, special events, meetings and conferences. Amenities include capacity for 185 people, a second floor patio, catering prep kitchen, brides dressing area, two-break out rooms, wheelchair accessibility, and on-site parking.

The Jack London Aquatic Center may be reserved 30 days to 11 months in advance. For viewing of the facility, contact a Representative directly to make an appointment.

Catering & Rental Information

You may hire a caterer from the Non-Exclusive Approved Catering List or choose the non-catered option. If you choose the non-catered option, you must comply with the Caterers Opt-Out Regulations and Expectations and pay the additional Caterers Opt-Out fee.

Programs at JLAC continue through partnership with local non-profits, schools and community groups. Courses currently offered by OPR include youth and adult sailing, kayaking and water awareness classes. Courses currently offered by OPR include youth and adult sailing and kayaking.
