Mosswood Park is nestled on four acres of green between West and North Oakland. The park is host to many events, programs and classes year round, and during the summer months hosts a thriving summer camp program. Our after school programs feature cooking, computer lab and homework help for children 5 to 11 years of age. Mosswood is easily accessible by MacArthur BART, and various lines of AC transit.
The Mosswood Advisory Council meets every third Thursday of the month. For times please contact Mosswood Recreation Center at (510) 597-5038.

Adult Fitness thru African Dance
Get physically fit through traditional African Dance and live drumming. Learn African songs and their meaning in this upbeat and energetic program.
Meets each: Tuesday and Thursday
From: 5:30 pm-6:45pm
Cost: $8 per class or $60 per month
Children’s Drumming
Have your child learn call and response between drummer to drummer, as well, as beats, rhythms & culture in fun and exciting way. Personal drums, shakers, and cowbells are welcomed.

Cost: $6 per class or $20 per month
Capoeira
An Afro-Brazilian Martial Art over 450 years old! Capoeira is used as an educational tool that instills discipline, self-confidence, coordination, physical fitness, and a sense of community. This class will incorporate dance, acrobatics, and music.
Meets each: T/Th from 5:00pm-6:00pm Youth age 6-14 $8
Meets each: T/Th from 6:150pm-6:00pm Adult 15 and up $10
Cost: $8-$10 per class or $60-$75 per month
Mosswood After-School All- Stars
Grades Kindergarten-6th Grade
3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Our After-School All Star program provides a full comprehensive after-school program in a safe environment, for elementary-aged youth, Monday-Friday from 3:00pm to 6:00pm and 1:00pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesdays. Mandatory 1 hour study hall M-Th, Science, Cooking, Tennis, Dance, and Art included.
