This great community resource is nestled in the Montclair District, complete with a duck pond, picnic areas, tennis courts, outdoor basketball court, and modern play equipment. Recent renovations were completed to make the center accessible to community members with physical disabilities. The center offers varied, balanced, and comprehensive recreational programs at a reasonable price for all ages.

SUMMER PROGRAM SCHEDULE
Registration for Summer Classes and Camps is on-going. Programs start the week of June 20th, 2016. Classes are available to see on-line now. Below are some highlights of what will be offered

We offer a variety classes for ages 3 up to 14 years of age. Beginner classes are designed to introduce kids to basic moves and techniques. Intermediate and Advanced classes will take students beyond the basics and challenge their physical and mental abilities.
We offer ballet for beginners and Afro-Haitian and Hip Hop for the more advanced students
We offer a variety of sports for pre-school and elementary ages. Soccer, t-ball, basketball, football, track and field are some of the sports we offer throughout the year. Check the schedule for what is being offered now.
ZUMBA (Adults) a latin dance based fitness program that has been sweeping the nation! Bring your kid for free.
Monday Class: 6:30pm - 7:30pm $10 per class

Our summer camps start the week of June 20 and go through the week of August 12. You may sign up for any week or combination of weeks. For Feather Hill, Summer Fun and Tween Leadership, pre-care starts at 7:30 am. Scheduled activities start by 9:00 am and go until 4:00pm. After-care runs until 6:00pm. Field Trips usually occur on Wednesdays.
Our camp staff consists mainly of young adults. All are thoroughly screened and trained for work with children. Each staff member has a FBI background check and is also screened for TB. Additionally, staff is put through a vigorous and extensive training camp prior to the start of summer programs. Staff are highly professional and motivated to provide the best and safest experience for your child. During our programs, all enrolled children will be supervised by adult staff.
(ages 3-5) will focus on fun, play and learning. Kids will make art projects, play games, sing, learn about nature. Motor skills and social skills will be emphasized. Kids will get a great first “Day Camp” experience while in a safe and secure environment. This group does not normally go on field trips. Camp runs from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Cost is $85 per week.
(ages 6 & 7) is one of the longest running day camps in the bay area (65+ years) and has been used as a model for other cities’ programs. We will fill each day with games, art, nature, sports and lots of fun. Each week will have a theme like Carnival, Pirate, Careers and Outer-space, etc. Weekly trips will focus on seeing and learning about the bay area.
Cost: $180 per week, Pre-care and after-care is included
(ages 8-10.5) promises to give campers an unforgettable experience. Each week will be filled with games, hikes, sports, songs, cooking and arts & crafts. It's hard to lose interest in the camp that never stops! Focus will be on responsibility, teamwork and fun. Each week we will venture out to great places in the bay area for educational and fun field trips!
Cost: $180 per week, Pre-care and after-care is included
Tween Leadership ($145 per week)
(ages 10.5-12) This group is designed for that awkward stage between child and teen. Youth will have opportunities for leadership, more advanced activities, life skills and community service. Limit 15 kids per week.
Counselor-in-Training ($110 per week)
(ages 13-16) Teens will help in the opertions and planning of our four camps for younger children as well as do specific activities and trips designed for teens. We will focus on leadership, community service and job skills. Teens can get up to 25 hours of community service credit per week. Limit 15 teens per week. This group runs M-F 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

TENNIS COURTS These courts are lighted and open until 10:00pm daily. They are open for public play, but may be reserved if you have a special event. For reservations contact email@example.com
SOFTBALL FIELD The field is used primarily for recreation programs and league play, however there are times open for drop-in use. For ball field reservations contact firstname.lastname@example.org
BUILDING RENTALS The Recreation Center is available for rentals. Weddings, baby showers, birthdays and special events can be be booked. Rentals must be booked at least 30 days in advance. You may pay by check or credit card (no cash please). For more information contact email@example.com
PICNIC AREAS The west picnic area is available for rental during the Spring and Summer. There are 12 tables and 6 grills for use.
The east picnic area is primarily a first-come, first serve area with 6 tabes.
Table Rentals: Tables are rented in pairs for $15 per hour (2 hour min). Tables will not be avaialble for rental October - March.

PLAY AREAS There are several play areas that are open for public use. All play areas are wheelchair accessible.
DUCK POND The pond is a mini wild-life sanctuary that is an extension of the Lake Merritt Wildlife Sanctuary. Please do not feed the animals. There is no fishing or catching allowed.
