This great community resource is nestled in the Montclair District, complete with a duck pond, picnic areas, tennis courts, outdoor basketball court, and modern play equipment. Recent renovations were completed to make the center accessible to community members with physical disabilities. The center offers varied, balanced, and comprehensive recreational programs at a reasonable price for all ages.

UP-COMMIMG EVENTS
May 29 @ 4:00PM Floating Art Opening
Local artist Jack Durnford will be installing a floating art exhibit in our pond. This show is the kick-off for his national tour which will end in New York City.
Montclair Car Show
On October 20th, we will host our second car show. Proceeds will go to Cancer Support Centers. Cars and trucks built before 1985 are eligible in the following categories: Classic Restored, Hot Rod, Survivor (un-restored), Sports, Muscle Car, Modified/race. Motorcycles built prior to 1985 are welcome as well. All vehicles must be able to run and drive into park under their own power. Registration for Summer Classes and camps is going on now. Programs start the week of June 24th. Below are some highlights of the offerings.
DANCE
We offer a variety of dance classes including Pre-ballet (ages 3-5), Ballet-Tap, Classic Ballet (ages 5-9) Movement and Fun (ages 2-4), Hip Hop (ages 7-12)



GYMNASTICS
We offer a variety classes for ages 3.5 up to 14 years of age. Beginner classes are designed to introduce kids to basic moves and techniques. Intermediate and Advanced classes will take students beyond the basics and challenge their physical and mental abilites.

YOUTH SPORTS
We offer a variety of sports for pre-school and elementary ages. Soccer, t-ball, basketball, football, track and field are some of the sports we offer throughout the year.

KARATE
Youth Karate and Adult Karate are offered year-round for all skill levels. Our Master, Jeff Violet is a 5th degree black-belt with many years of experience.


SUPER CHEFS
Kids will learn cooking skills, healthy recipes and best of all, get to eat the end results. 
SUMMER CAMPS
We offer 3 different day camps for ages 4 to 12. Cost of $180 per week includes pre and after-care, games, art, sports, songs, drama and much more. a weekly filed trip takes kids to interesting and fun places like Monterey Bay Aquarium, Angel Island, USS Hornet, Marin Headlands. (field trip cost is extra)



SPECIALTY CAMPS
Spring Break Camp: Week of March 25-29. ages 5-12 cost $170 per child
Summer Arts Workshop: Week of Aug 19-23. 9:00am-4:00pm ages 6-14 $225 per child
Kids will explore different mediums of art including paint, charcoal, clay, drama, dance
Little Princess Dance Camp: Week of July 22-26 9:30am-11:30am ages 3-5 $100 per child
Dress as your favorite Princess! This Theme Camp will include, ballet class, crafts and exploring the Princess World! Learn dances from "Aladdin Nights" and perform as Princess Jasmine, experience waltzing at Prince Charmings Ball as Cinderella and imagine being Ariel from the "Little Mermaid.
World Cultures Dance Camp: Week of July 29-Aug 2 9:30am-11:30am. ages 3-5 $100 per child
Peter Pan Dance Camp: Week of Aug 5-9 9:30am-11:30am. ages 3-5 $100 per child
An Adventure in Neverland! Imagine Captain Hook and his Pirates, Indians, Tiger Lily, and the Darling children! Develop short skits, learn the "Pirate Shuffle" and have a ball this summer!
Big Top Circus Camp: Week of Aug 12-16 9:30am-11:30am. ages 5-8 $100 per child
It's the BIG TOP! Be a clown! Learn to Juggle! Walk on Slits! Jump and Tumble! This one week THEME CAMP will be the highlight of the summer!
TEEN LEADERSHIP
Teens may get valuable work experience, training and camaraderie by joining our Teen Leader Camp. Cost is $105 per week. Starts June 24th, 2013. We are taking applications for enthusiastic and community minded young people who would like to learn while having fun.

ZUMBA a latin dance based fitness program that has been sweeping the nation! Bring your kid for free.
Monday Class: 6:30pm - 7:30pm $10 per class (no class 4/1)
Thursday Noon class starts April 11th!
ADVISORY BOARD
Get involved with your community. The Montclair Recreation Advisory Board meets bi-monthly. Please call the Center for more information.

TENNIS COURTS These courts are lighted and open until 10:00pm daily. They are open for public play, but may be reserved if you have a special event. For reservations contact mzinns@oaklandnet.com
SOFTBALL FIELD The field is used primarily for recreation programs and league play, however there are times open for drop-in use. For ball field reservations contact fmorris@oaklandnet.com
BUILDING RENTALS The Recreation Center is available for rentals. Weddings, baby showers, birthdays and special events can be be booked. Rentals must be booked at least 30 days in advance. You may pay by check or credit card (no cash please). For more information contact mlwilliams@oaklandnet.com
Rental Rates
PICNIC AREAS The west picnic area is available for rental during the Spring and Summer. There are 12 tables and 6 grills for use.
The east picnic area is primarily a first-come, first serve area with 6 tabes.
Table Rentals: Tables are rented in pairs for $15 per hour (2 hour min). Please contact mlwilliams@oaklandnet.com

PLAY AREAS There are several play areas that are open for public use. All play areas are wheelchair accessible.

DUCK POND The pond is a mini wild-life sanctuary that is an extension of the Lake Merritt Wildlife Sanctuary. Please do not feed the animals. There is no fishing or catching allowed.
