OFFICE HOURS (Spring & Summer)
The Carmen Flores Recreation Center is located in the heart of Oakland’s Fruitvale district. Diverse recreational programs are offered at low cost for tiny tots, youth, teens, adults and seniors. The center and park feature an industrial sized kitchen, multipurpose room, fully equipped computer lab and an artificial multipurpose field. Current renovations to the park include full basketball court, new entry way, a track, lighting, and landscaping which was completed in Fall 2011. We have a team of bilingual staff and a friendly atmosphere. Our programs are designed to expose our community to new activities that help participants find their passion in life. Oakland is our playground, so Come Out and Play the OPR Way!
Facility and Park amenities include; Industrial size kitchen, multipurpose room, meeting room space, computer lab, stage, basketball courts, artificial turf multipurpose field with lights, and community garden.

Gomez Kajukenbo Karate Class - Classes are offered Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 6:00-8:00pm for ages 5 to 75 years old.
These martial arts classes are offered by Sifu Martin Gomez (Black Belt) who has been teaching at in the Fruitvale community for more than 10 years. Mr Gomez provides classes which prevent violence, promotes health, physical condition and self esteem. Participants compete in annual tournaments throughout the state.
Aztec Rhythm Dance Class - Classes are offered every Thursday from 7:00-8:00pm for all ages
Students experience the rhythms of ancient people, and begin to understand the connections between ritual and daily life through the desire to learn, share and live the tradition of Aztec Dance. The class pursues this spiritual, mental, and physical vocation with music from the sacred drum, conch shells, seeds, and other instruments gifted by the natural environment.
Zumba, Aerobics, Kickboxing, & Other Fitness Classes - Class are offered to ages 16 and up and class schedules are as follows
Come join our fitness Instructor Irma Hernandez who is Certified in Zumba. She is full of energy as participants have fun listening to great energetic music while dancing and burning calories to get in shape. All welcomed!

All Faces of Diversity - Classes are provided Fridays March 2 - May 18, 2012 from 3:30-4:30pm
This wonderful diverse program provides cultural fundamentals through ethnic exploration which will strengthen the participants knowledge of community with help of visual arts, media, and nutrition.
Hooked on Sports - Wednesday's 3:00-4:00 for ages 7-12 years old, March 7-May 10
This program helps youth stay healthy and fit by participating in a variety of sports. Participants will be exposed to soccer, baseball, football, hockey, basketball, and other sports.
