Arroyo Viejo Recreation Center (meaning Old Creek in Spanish) is located at one of the largest and most beautiful parks in the city, featuring a lively creek, picnic areas, and a community garden. Adjacent to East Oakland Pride Elementary School, the center is equipped with a football/soccer field, tennis courts, tot lot, patio area, social hall, craft and game room, computer lab, and newly renovated baseball field. Bilingual staff members are available to assist Spanishspeaking community members. Arroyo Viejo Recreation Center is an excellent venue for your next special event. Our social hall, meeting rooms, industrial kitchen, and patio are all available for rent. Please visit our front desk to get rate information and receive a facility rental application today.

Arroyo Viejo Recreation Center named 2012 American Cheer Power National Champions!
The Office of Parks and Recreation was represented by Arroyo Viejo Recreation Center at the 2012 American Cheer Power National Championships in Las Vegas Nevada and shined brighter than the rest! With the help from amazing partners, families, and volunteers our girls were able to really show up and show out. A special thanks to the Girls Sports Unit and the CEO's for their continued support. Thanks to everyone who helped us fundraise, friend-raise, and supported in other ways. If you see any of these young ladies in a park near you, strutting their stuff in their championship jackets, show them some OPR love!
Outdoor Classroom Adventure
In celebration of Earth Day Arroyo Viejo Recreation Center collaborated with Rise Community School to host an Outdoor Classroom Adventure to teach Conservation and Stewardship.

The Golden State Warriors in partnership with PG&E recently began work to refurbish the outdoor basketball courts at Arroyo Viejo Park. Groundbreaking for the new Chris Mullins Courts was held April 8, 2012. Click here to see the video of the ceremony.
