Housing Services and Counseling
City of Oakland affordable housing funds come from both local and federal sources. These funds are distributed through the programs listed below.
- Counseling - counseling for home buyers
- Discrimination/Fair Housing - services for Oakland residents who feel they have been subjected to discrimination as a home buyer, homeowner or tenant
- Disabled - counseling, housing search assistance, and referrals for disabled individuals
- Predatory Lending - protect yourself against excessive fees, high interest rates and other abusive mortgage lending practices known as predatory lending
- Relocation - information and assistance to individuals and families who are being forced out of their places of residence due to safety violations, demolition, or government activities
- Rent Disputes - links to the Rent Adjustment Board for individuals needing assistance with rent disputes
- Rental Assistance - For short term financial assistance with rental payments, please call Eden I&R at “211” or visit the Eden I&R website at www.edenir.org. Eden I&R maintains an up to date referral listing of agencies that provide rental assistance services throughout Oakland and Alameda County.
