Re-Create 2014 Art Contest and Travelling Exhibition
Public Reception and Awards Ceremony
Oakland’s annual Re-Create Art Contest and Travelling Exhibition opens with a public reception and awards ceremony on Friday February 28th from 6-8 pm at Pro Arts Gallery, 150 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza. The reception will feature presentation of awards to this year’s recycled art contest winners, and honor all participants.
The annual Re-Create Art Contest and Travelling Exhibition is a competition that encourages Oakland student artists to create artwork that incorporates the 4Rs - reduce, reuse, recycle and rot (compost) in a creative application. It is sponsored by the City of Oakland, Public Works Agency and produced by Pro Arts Gallery.
Selected pieces from the Re-Create Art Contest and Travelling Exhibition will be on display at the following Oakland Public Library branches during the months of March and April 2014:

- Asian Branch Library, 388 9th Street, Ste 190
- Cesar Chavez Branch Library, 3301 East 12th Street
- Elmhurst Branch Library, 1427 88th Avenue
- Lakeview Branch Library, 550 El Embarcadero
