Re-Create 2012 Traveling Art Exhibit
Selected pieces from Oakland’s Annual Re-Create Art Contest and Exhibition will be on display at the following libraries from January 8through February 15, 2013:
- Cesar Chavez Branch Library, 3301 East 12th Street
- Eastmont Branch Library, 7200 Bancroft Avenue, Ste 211
- 81st Avenue Community Branch Library, 1021 81st Avenue
- Elmhurst Branch Library, 1427 88th Avenue
- Golden Gate Branch Library, 5606 San Pablo Avenue
- Lakeview Branch Library, 550 El Embarcadero
- Main Library, 125 14th Street
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Branch Library, 6833 International Boulevard
Student artists in Oakland schools created the artwork from discarded materials, in a hands-on application of the 4Rs - reduce, reuse, recycle and rot. Awards were presented at a reception on November 16, 2012 to honor those who participated in this year’s contest.
