Facilities Services
Facilities Services provides direct tenant services to a wide variety of client agencies, including custodial services, building engineering, security and access controls, air quality monitoring, emergency response and property management. This division is also responsible for preparing new building operating estimates, design and project oversight for all minor maintenance and maintenance related Capital Improvement Projects. Located in the Civic Center Complex, 250 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, Suite 1329, we are also responsible for scheduling and approving special event requests for the buildings and the Plaza and property management support to City tenants located in the Civic Center Complex.
Building engineering provides maintenance activities at the Emergency Operations Center, Hall of Justice, Eastmont Police Substation, Oakland Museum, Main Library, African-American Museum and Library, Veterans Building and the Henry J. Kaiser Convention buildings. Responsibilities include repairs to heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), elevators, electrical and plumbing systems. In addition, the building engineers also provide maintenance services to many of the 309 City-owned buildings across the City, including maintenance of elevators, UPS/diesel generators, air compressors and vehicle-fueling stations.
