Area 1 (tan, Beats 1 - 7) is commanded by Captain Drennon Lindsey. Area 1 is the area traditionally known as West Oakland. It is bordered by the City of Emeryville and Area 2 on the north, Lake Merritt on the east, the Oakland Estuary on the south, and the Bay on the west. Area 1 is a diverse community with multiple thriving business districts, including Jack London Square, Downtown Oakland, and City Hall (Frank Ogawa Plaza).
Area 1 comprises ten community policing beats. If you would like to find the officer who is assigned to your neighborhood or business location, click on the map to find out what area and beat you live in.
