On September 22, 2009 at 9:53 AM City of Oakland Housing Authority Police Officers responded to 2529 9th Avenue to investigate the report of a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival an Oakland Housing Authority Police Officer located Raymond Marshall, a 21 year old Oakland residence, inside of a parked vehicle.
The Oakland Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating Joel Ortiz for questioning.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in
this case. Ortiz may currently be in the Sacramento area.
On September 13th, at 9:32 a.m., Oakland police officers responded to the 3300 block of
Lakeshore Avenue on a report of gun shots in the area. Upon arrival, officers contacted
an individual who advised that he accidently fired his firearm. The officers conducted a
protective sweep of the apartment complex and discovered multiple marijuana plants and
On September 3, 2009, the Oakland Police Department Crime Stoppers Program
received contributions to increase the reward fund for the Hasanni Campbell case. At the beginning of
the investigation the reward was $10,000 and now we are able to offer $60,000.
On August 29, 2009 the City of Oakland will add an additional intersection to the Red Light Camera Enforcement System (RLCES) in an effort to reduce red-light related accidents. The fourth intersection to be equipped with the red-light camera system is High St. and Foothill Bl. The system will capture red-light violations and warning notices will be mailed to violators for 30 days.
On August 27, 2009, at about 1:31 p.m., Officers Burns and Cardona conducted a traffic
stop in the 7900 block of Hillmont Drive. The driver was found to be driving without a valid driver’s
license and one of his passengers was on probation for possession of stolen property.
