On Wednesday May 18, 2011 at approximately 10:30 P.M., Oakland Police
Officers received credible information that a violent crime was going to take place. At the scene,
an armed man fled into a nearby yard while the
other confronted officers and was shot. The third occupant of the vehicle was also
shot during a confrontation with officers. Medical aid was provided; however, both
of the suspects died from their injuries.
On December 19th, 2009 at approximately 7:00 P.M., Oakland Police responded to a shooting at the Auto Zone at 10111 International Blvd. Responding Officers found 59 year old Bounhom Manyvong suffering from gunshot wounds.
On May 3rd at 4:30 P.M., Oakland Patrol Officer Malcolm Miller responded to 6338 Valley View Road on a report of trespassers inside an unoccupied home. Ofc. Miller arrived on scene, conducted a preliminary investigation and located a subject living inside the residence illegally.
Douglas K. Yim, Jr, turned himself into police in Firebaugh, Fresno
County, Monday morning at 4:15 a.m. Yim was turned over to the custody of the Oakland Police and charged by Alameda County District Attorney’s Office for
murder and attempted murder.
