Oakland, CA — Within the last week, members of the Oakland Police Department
have been making good arrests, and getting guns off the streets of Oakland. ”I am
extremely proud of the work we are doing” said Chief Howard Jordan. He went on
to say, “getting guns off the street is certainly a high priority, it makes a significant
impact on the quality of life for our residents.”
Oakland, CA - On March 1, 2012, at 1:40 pm, the Oakland Police Department
responded to the 300 block of West MacArthur Boulevard to investigate a call of
gunshots. When officers arrived on scene they located a 16 year old male, who is
an Oakland resident, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The juvenile was
transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
Oakland, CA — On March 1, 2012, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office
charged robbery suspects Forrest Greely and Billy Hall for multiple robberies,
which had occurred on February 16, 2012. Greely was charged with nine counts of
robbery and Hall was charged with seven counts of robbery.

On February 20, 2012, at 11:43 p.m., a uniformed Oakland Police Officer
attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop in 2000 block of 62nd avenue on a
vehicle associated to a robbery, which had just occurred in the area.
Oakland, CA — On February 16, 2012 at approximately 10:45 pm, two victims
were approached by two suspects in the 3300 block of Grand avenue, and robbed
at gunpoint. When officers responded, one of the victims advised the officers that
tracking software was installed on his iPad.

Oakland, CA — The Oakland Police Department would like to make the public
aware of a reported attempted sexual assault. A 37-year-old female informed
investigators that on February 14, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., she was walking in the 2800
block of East 10th Street to her home. The victim said she entered her front door to
the residence, and was approached by a stranger from behind and physically forced
inside at knife point. The victim reported that the suspect forced her down to the
floor where he attempted to sexually assault her while holding her at knife point.
