Oakland, CA – The Oakland Police Department requests the assistance from the media
and the community in identifying a robbery suspect. Police have released store video
surveillance footage that shows the suspect committing the robbery.

Beginning on Monday, May 7, 2012, the Oakland Police Department and the
United States Marshals Service, together with several federal and state law
enforcement partners, conducted a three-day warrant service operation. The goal of
the operation was to clear as many outstanding and high-priority warrants being

Department officers conducted a vehicle traffic stop in the area of Ney Street near
Ritchie Street. As officers prepared to conduct a felony probation search on the
vehicle’s front passenger, the rear passenger of the vehicle ran from the car.
Officers pursued him into the 7900 block of MacArthur Boulevard.
Oakland, CA – The Oakland Police Department has identified Mr. Alan Dwayne
Blueford (DOB 12/93) as the person shot by police on the morning of May 6th,
2012. Blueford succumbed to fatal wounds after being transported from the scene
for medical attention.
