SAN FRANCISCO – The results of a long term pro-active enforcement operation, designed to address violent crime in the Oakland, Calif., area, were announced today by United States Attorney Melinda Haag; Acting Special Agent in Charge Scot C. Thomasson of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Project Gideon III; and Chief Howard Jordan of the Oakland Police Department, during a press conference in Oakland.
Oakland, CA –On May 24, 2012 at 9:31 PM gun shots were reported in the 5800
block of International Boulevard. Two Alameda County Sheriff Deputies, who
were patrolling the area, also reported they heard the gun shots.

by the Oakland Police Department.

Oakland, CA – On May 16, 2012 at 10:40 AM the Oakland Police Department responded
the area of 73rd Avenue and Spencer Street on a report of a burglary. When officers
arrived on scene, witnesses provided a description of the vehicle used by the suspects
during the burglary as well as a description of suspects. It was reported that three
firearms were taken during the burglary.
