Oakland, CA - On Friday, March 8, 2013, Oakland Police Chief Howard A. Jordan was joined by California Attorney General Kamala Harris, U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag, Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O’Malley, Mayor Jean Quan, and City Administrator Deanna Santana to discuss an extensive 30-day Oakland Police Department (OPD) investigation of Oakland gangs and groups thought responsible for many recent shootings and homicides. The investigation culminated with pre-dawn warrant services this morning.

Oakland, CA — At 6:22pm this evening, an Oakland Police Department
undercover officer was working within the 1700 block of Seminary Avenue on
follow-up reconnaissance regarding a recent shooting connected to the area. While
in the area, the officer was accosted by three armed men; during the physical confrontation,
and before nearby uniformed officers could respond, the officer suffered a non-life
threatening gunshot wound to the arm
Oakland, CA — This week the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged
Lamar Eric Webster, 21, with one count of murder and two counts of attempted
murder in connection with the homicide of Eddiebo Rodriguez, age 20, that
occurred on January 11, 2013, in the 3400 block of West Street.
