Oakland, Ca. As motorists take to the roads this Memorial Day holiday, East Bay police are urging everyone to
buckle up. East Bay law enforcement officials will be lending their support to the 2013 national Click It or
Ticket seat belt law campaign and looking for motorists who are not belted.
“As we kick-off the busy summer driving season it’s important that everyone buckles up every time they go
out, both day and night – no excuses,” said Oakland Police Lieutenant Peter Lau.
Oakland, CA —Today Oakland Interim Police Chief Sean C. Whent was joined by
California Highway Patrol (CHP) Golden Gate Division Sector Chief Paul Fontana,
Acting Commander Steve Larson of the Oakland Area CHP, Assistant District
Attorney Kevin Dunleavy and Deputy District Attorney Elgin Lowe, and
representatives from the U.S. Marshal’s Office to announce the recent disposition of
the criminal prosecution involving four suspects in connection with the attempted
murder of CHP Officer S. Deise, which occurred on July 21, 2012.
On April 22, 2013 at 1:181 PM, in the 1000 block of International Boulevard,
Oakland Police officers were flagged down by a witness to a strong arm
robbery. Thanks to witnesses’ detailed descriptions of the suspects and their
vehicle, police quickly apprehended the suspects. Three male adult suspects
were arrested in connection with the robbery.

On May 9, 2013 at 12:51 PM, Oakland Police officers responded to the area around Lake Merritt on a report of a robbery that just occurred. The victims on scene were able to provide officers with a description of the suspects, the suspect vehicle, and a license plate number.

The Open House, sponsored by OPD and the Oakland Police Foundation, will be held at the Police Administration Building on 455 - 7th Street.
On April 30, 2013, at 7:00 AM, Oakland Police officers were alerted by
ShotSpotter Technology that multiple gun shots were heard in the 2400 block of
26th Avenue. Oakland’s Dispatch Center also received multiple calls from area
residents reporting shots heard.
