On May 9, 2013 at 12:51 PM, Oakland Police officers responded to the area around Lake Merritt on a report of a robbery that just occurred. The victims on scene were able to provide officers with a description of the suspects, the suspect vehicle, and a license plate number.

The Open House, sponsored by OPD and the Oakland Police Foundation, will be held at the Police Administration Building on 455 - 7th Street.

ShotSpotter Technology that multiple gun shots were heard in the 2400 block of
26th Avenue. Oakland’s Dispatch Center also received multiple calls from area
residents reporting shots heard.

conducting a follow up investigation regarding a robbery and shooting that had
occurred on April 4, 2013 in the area of School and Champion streets. The
investigation led officers to a residence in the 2800 block of 22nd Avenue, where a
search warrant was served.

Committee on Crime will be hosting its annual banquet to recognize the Asian
Youth Services Committee (AYSC) at Peony's Restaurant in Oakland. The banquet
is the biggest fund raiser of the year; proceeds are used to fund AYSC scholarships
and youth activities.

Woods, Program Manager of Tri-City Health Center; TransVision; and the
community will be holding a candlelight vigil to mark the one-year anniversary of
the homicide of Brandy Martell. Brandy was a 37-year-old African-American
transgender woman and a former Peer Advocate for TransVision. The Oakland
Police Department will be present at the vigil.
