Oakland, CA— On Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at about 12:40 PM, the Area 2 Crime Reduction Team (CRT 2), led by Sergeant Curtis Worcester, executed a search warrant on the 700 block of 55th Street at an illegal marijuana operation running out of a gift shop.

Oakland, CA — On December 14, 2013, an Oakland Gun Buyback event will be held at Youth UpRising on 8711 MacArthur Boulevard. Part of a statewide gun buyback initiative, the event is co-hosted by Youth UpRising in partnership with Gun by Gun, an organization founded in 2013 to prevent gun violence by reducing the number of unwanted and illegal guns in the community while creating an outlet for community action on the issue of gun violence prevention. Chief Sean Whent will be there to kick off the event at 9:00 AM.
