Oakland, CA — For the third year in a row, members of the Oakland Police
Department's Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (CPAAA) will
volunteer their time at the West Oakland BART station to provide safety escort
service to holiday shoppers. Both Oakland and BART police officers will work
side-by-side with CPAAA members in an effort to ensure holiday shoppers make it
safely to their parked cars.

League (PAL) will host its 22nd Annual Christmas Dinner. This invitation-only
event will take place at Shiloh Christian Fellowship located at 3291 School Street
in Oakland. Dinner will be provided for over 500 guests, and gifts will be
distributed to the children in attendance; there will also be special performances.

Oakland, CA – This afternoon a peaceful demonstration of approximately700 people marched from Frank Ogawa Plaza to Lakeview Elementary School. The City of Oakland and the Oakland Police Department maintained low visibility while facilitating the march and providing traffic control.
Oakland, CA - On February 8, 2011 a 56 year-old female was walking home after work near 8th and Jackson Streets when she was grabbed from behind, forced to the bottom of her basement, brutally beaten and sexually assaulted. The suspect fled the scene. There were no witnesses to the crime, and the victim could not identify the suspect. Evidence obtained from the victim’s sexual assault examination was entered into the local, state and national database for convicted offenders (CODIS), and a match to the suspect was made.
Oakland, CA – The Oakland Police Department was advised of a sexual assault that occurred on November 15, 2011 at approximately 2:00am, in the 2500 block of 13th Avenue. It was reported that a 21 year old female victim was walking home from work when she was approached by the suspect in what is believed to be an attempted robbery that resulted in a sexual assault.
