Oakland is a vibrant, safe and thriving center of the East Bay. We will build on the City’s experience as the administrative hub of the County of Alameda, the regional seat for the federal government, the district location of primary state offices and the center of commerce and international trade for the Bay Area.
Our central location attracts local business to provide a wide range of jobs for Oakland residents and the surrounding communities.
Our many parks and scenic views of the Bay and open space, along with thriving neighborhoods, affordable housing, access to services, superior cultural and recreational amenities makes Oakland one of the most desirable, livable cities in the East Bay.
We work to help Oakland flourish by collaborating with schools and other local/regional agencies for public/private partnerships, shared services, and wrap-around services that support our youth and give them real hope for their future.
We work to make Oakland safer through community policing, neighborhood councils and crime prevention programs. Our leadership in emergency preparedness at both the policy and neighborhood level will help sustain Oakland should disaster occur.
A leader in progressive and smart growth policies, Oakland is building a sustainable city that promotes a green economy and healthy environment that benefits all.
In support of these efforts, City Hall will be ethical, transparent and effective—our goal is to be responsive to make resources accessible for all citizens.
