Elections & Political Reporting
From election pre-planning to certification of election results and filing of final campaign disclosure statements, this unit manages the process that forms the foundation of our democratic system of government.
What we do:
- Administer municipal elections, including those of the offices of the Mayor, City Council, City Auditor, and the Board of Education
- Conduct voter registration outreach activities throughout the year
- Assist candidates in meeting their legal responsibilities before, during and after an election--including filing statements of economic interest and campaign disclosures
- Work closely with the Public Ethics Commission to make sure City officials and staff comply with regulations and policies that assure fairness, openness, and honesty in City government.
