Agenda Management
Agenda Management produces and distributes the weekly City Council and Council Committee meeting agendas.
As key staff for Council meetings, we prepare the legislative agendas, verify the posting or publishing of legal notices, coordinate the scheduling of public hearings, and complete the necessary arrangements to ensure effective meetings. Agenda Management is also responsible for recording the official legislative actions of the City Council, and Council Committees.
Proposed legislative actions are reviewed by six Council committees:
- Public Works -- Meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month
- Finance and Management-- Meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month
- Community and Economic Development-- Meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month
- Life Enrichment-- Meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month
- Public Safety-- Meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month
- Rules and Legislation-- Meets every Thursday
The full council meets on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesdays of the month.
Each committee is composed of four Councilmembers assigned by the President of the City Council. Once these committees have completed their review, they forward items to the Oakland Redevelopment Agency and Oakland City Council for final action.
