Façade & Tenant Improvement Programs
At this time, the Façade and Tenant Improvement Program has a limited amount of funding and is open to receiving applications from eligbile business or property owners.
Former Agency Programs
Graffiti Abatement Program
The Graffiti Abatement Program provided graffiti abatement for businesses and properties on certain major commercial corridors within Redevelopment project areas through contracts with community-based non-profit groups. Interested property owners were required to sign graffiti abatement authorization forms in order to have their graffiti removed.
The former graffiti abatement contracts expired in June of 2013.
Infill Incentives Grants
The Infill Incentives Grants Program offered developers and property owners up to $15,000 in matching funds for predevelopment analysis. The program encouraged the exploration of residential and nonresidential development options for infill areas in the Central City East and Coliseum Redevelopment Project Areas. Major corridors were a particular focus.
At this time, only the Infill Incentives agreements already signed by the City Administrator are considered valid and will be processed. Applications for this program are effectively closed until, and if, there is another funding source located.
Neighborhood Project Initiative Program
The Neighborhood Project Initiative program was a grant program that funded one-time, small-scale, community-initiated physical improvement projects that were located within the redevelopment project area boundaries.
At this time, only the Neighborhood Project Initiative Program agreements already signed by the City Administrator are considered valid and will be processed.
Applications for this program are effectively closed until, and if, there is another funding source located.
Commercial Loan Programs
The City of Oakland's Commercial Lending program was a multi-service partnership that provided personalized technical and financial assistance to small business owners. The goal was to attract, retain and expand Oakland's economic base.
